I recently picked two of these up for a 250 mile bikepacking ride around northern AZ and they worked wonderfully! When going on large rides like this, having easy accessibility for water or snacks is crucial so when I came across these on Amazon they caught my attention. I know there’s a lot of companies out there that make bikepacking gear so I also looked into Pack2Ride the brand as I had never heard of them before. After some research I liked how everything is handmade and they’re focus on using the best materials and sustainability, emphasizing quality and detail was important to me, and for the price I had to scoop them up! Glad I did too, as these are no joke. They attach super easy and quick with Velcro straps to both the frame, handlebars, and gooseneck. What I like is P2R provides extra Velcro so you can make it as stable as possible for your rig. There’s molle straps on the sides of the Bongo’s to accommodate a variety of strap positions and can attach to a variety of different types of bikes.
Let’s talk size! These things are very roomy and can hold 32 oz bottles. I had my 24 oz bottles in them but could’ve gone bigger with a Nalgene bottle. What I really also love about these Bongo’s is the mesh pocket webbing on the front. I used this to store protein bars, phone, battery power pack, or trash and they held everything perfectly.
Funny, one of my riding partners was looking at these and comparing them against another name brand who is more than 2x expensive btw, and he wanted mine! The expandable top, quality drawstring, durable tough materials, mesh front pocket was impressive and felt better than his.
So after putting these to a rigorous ride, I confidently recommend them to anyone from the casual townie rider who wants to carry a bottle of wine home or to the aggressive endurance cycling juggernaut going on long hauls. I know these will be with me on many more rides to come and at this price point it’s a no brainer to buy these!
